E-mail & Courtesy

Every action you take or that you choose to not make, reflects to what you think is important. Common courtesies are simply little guidelines that we all can agree are those that help make the world a nicer place for everyone.

My tagline:

“Using Technology to Communicate with Knowledge, Understanding and Courtesy.”

…pretty much says it all. Learn about how technology, that we all already take for granted, works. Understand the variables available to you, and then, throw in a dash of courtesy.

Those who make these efforts will be a pleasure to communicate with. They’ll make more friends, they’ll have many more networking associates and they will be taken more seriously than those who feel E-mail Etiquette efforts are not worth their time. If you think about it, not showing courtesy to the other side basically shows the other side they are not worth your time to make those extra, little efforts.

The cool part is that integrating a bit of courtesy only takes a couple extra keystrokes. Typing a Hello, a Thank you, a How are you? and a proper sign-off are all little touches that humanize and add courtesy to your communications.

So take a moment today when you type your e-mails and think “courtesy.” Think about how you can make your e-mails reflect your humanity and that you are a caring, intelligent person. It will all come back to you…
