How To Suggest Business Email Etiquette?

How do you politely inform colleges or associates who do not practice proper Business Email Etiquette that they need to bone up on the subject?
Surprisingly I get asked that question several times each week. Why does that surprise me? Because I would think that most serious businesses would have given their employees direction or policies on the subject of proper Business Email practices. I guess not though…
In the case of a coworker or associate who needs to be made aware of the issues important to how they are being perceived, what they should consider and what they shouldn’t, I simply recommend you point them to my “Business Email Etiquette Basics” so they can read and learn.
In my experience, unfortunately, many folks don’t take kindly when being corrected about their lack of email etiquette, no matter how nice you are. So to solve this, in your email (or you can use the ShareThis tool to email them the link right from my site) simply state something like “I found this great site about Business Email Etiquette and I learned a few things I wasn’t aware of. Thought you would find this info helpful too!”
Problem solved!
