How to Write Business E-mails that Impress!

Successful business folks realize that everything that reflects on them or their business has to be positioned to impress. From your business cards (homemade with perforations or quality paper and design), to how you dress (groomed with wrinkle free clothes or clothing with stains and unkempt personal hygiene) to how you present yourself at meetings (alert and attentive or distracted by your “crackberry”) — all are opportunities to impress.

The same applies to your e-mail. And with more and more turning to e-mail and the online world to seek new employement and opportunities, business e-mail etiquette is even more important than it ever has been to stand out from the rest!

Regardless of all the noise about e-mail being informal and this being a new age, professionalism and your command of the written word will never go out of style! Your e-mail is an opportunity to impress someone who is considering doing business with or hiring you. And sometimes you only have that one opportunity!

We learned how to write in grade school and learned more as our education progressed. In this über competitive environment, it behooves each and every one of us to use the skills we learned in grade school and high school and then improve upon them. Working to improve our writing skills, which in my experience seems to be a never ending process, is something one should embrace so that you can impress and therefore succeed.

So if you are starting a business, looking for a job or just communicating online with those who don’t know what a great asset you can be, why not take a Business E-mail Etiquette/a> refresher now?

Those who succeed write at all times to impress!
