AI & Business Email Etiquette: The Big Picture

Each year, I update my Business Email Etiquette eBook to keep up with evolving technology. In doing so this year, while contemplating AI and our business email communications, I realized that’s a complex tell. One too large for this blog.
So it will be added to the V2026 of my Business Email Etiquette eBook, which I am currently putting the final touches on. Should be done by the end of November.
Until the new eBook is released, here’s the TL;DR: AI is transforming business email—saving time and boosting professionalism—but risks eroding authenticity, trust, and human skill. Balance is key.
In my over 30 years of online experience, rare are those doing business online who can “balance.” If there is something easier—a shortcut, a freebie—they dive in, and the balance is lost.
I see this happening already. But I digress…
